The hi-lite of the week was meeting a couple, Gail & John, from Washington State. He built their boat which is a 46 foot trawler named "Sirens Call" and built by "Wungh Hungh Lo". The "manufacturer" started out as a joke but they need it for Panama and it does sound like a Twain manufacturer. It took him 5 years but it is one of the best constructed and finished boats we have ever been on. We went over for drinks but it was a grand tour with many questions. He did everything himself, welding steel hull, weld aluminum super structure, beautiful cabinets, machinery and etc. During their trip they encountered 18 - 25 foot seas and with the "flopper stoppers" were able to proceed safely.
The ceilings are 7.5 feet high and it looks more like a home then a boat. Just beautiful !!!!
Saturday Jan. 15 we prepared to leave Vero and proceed to Stuart, just 43 miles down the ICW.
